[Cdt-l] Handbook

I'm not familiar with the waypoints you cited, but I used a combination of
Jerry Brown's waypoints (the "official" CDTA route) and a track file from
Out of Order. OOO's file had all of the Ley alternate routes and for the
most part was pretty accurate even though he generated them on a computer
from the Ley maps (as opposed to walking the trail to create the track). My
gps could display both OOO's track and Jerry's waypoints on the screen at
the same time, so it was easy to see the alternate routes.

My CDT Handbook, Town Guide, Green Bandana, Spoon, Resupply
Points...etc...just arrived. The J. Ley maps are in queue. Let the
planning begin...

Quick Question: If I have the 2010 J. Ley waypoints (from Sly I
think...White Blaze) loaded into my GPS App, should that be sufficient, or
are there better/more accurate waypoints out there?

Thanks,

Blister

I have placed the waypoint data for New Mexico and Colorado on my Bearcreek
web site. (address below). You can download it there free of charge. Take
the Waypoints link from the home page then scroll down a bit to the download
link.

I am working on the data for Wyoming and Idaho/Montana. I am in the process
of finalizing the WY data so it should be there soon.

My sincerest best wishes for the fine people I have worked with at CDTA.
You are the best!

best wishes,

So sad to hear.

Many users of the CDT are thankful for all the work the CDTA has done to
help make the trail a reality.

The trail will continue, but missing an organization that has helped the
trail so much.
